This Happylight snake lamp from the 80s is made in many colors. Often called Cobra or Serpent. This table lamp is a copy of the original snake lamp designed by Isao Hosoe in 1969. Happylight International B.V. produced lamps for specialty stores, department stores and DIY stores. The general manager was Ben Beljaars (1995 - 2000).
He was financial controller and financial director from 1989 to 1995. Happylight were two companies. Happylight International B.V. and Happylight Beheer B.V.. Around 2003 they stopped. How it is possible that Happylight has made such lamps is a mystery. Maybe they produced this lamp under license or it was an "illegal" copy. In all likelihood, these lamps were also sold in the early 1990s. The Dutch company d-L Lampen Holland also sold this snake lamp in the 1980s. Many other companies probably did that. d-L Lampen Holland was active in the seventies and eighties. They sold many lamps from Massive from Belgium.
